Around the Lake December 2016

Categories // News Blog

2016 is just about over and what a year it has been. The club has been very busy throughout the year with planning events, bringing back the Surf round, and Lake maintenance. Unfortunately the weather has thrown us some curve balls with the Lyttleton to Akaroa turning into a harbour event and the Surf round cut short by the High winds. But all in all it has been a good year and we can't wait for the racing to continue in the beginning of 2017.

In the meantime CJSC would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Please stay safe out there and look out for each other especially at the lake during busy periods.

Dyers Road ITM King of the Surf Results

We had a bit of a delay in getting the results posted for this round, we are sorry about this. But they are finally posted and viewable on the results page of the CJSC website.

It was a great event which hasn't be done in many years, there was some very frustrating weather kicking up the waves and dragging the front of the course along the shore making it very difficult at times to remember where to for the next marker buoy. Thank you to everyone who turned up and helped out, you made the event what it was. We can only hope for better conditions next time to make it even better.

And a very big thank you goes out to Dyers Road ITM for sponsoring the event, without their assistance it would have made the event a lot harder to run.

North Island Champs 2017

For those CJSC members wanting to race in the North Island as well, the date has been set for the 2017 North Island Jetski Championship.

It will be held on 21-22 January at the Backpaddock Lakes, Takapau, CHB. This is being hosted by Hawkes Bay Jet Sport Club and is the weekend before our 3rd Round of the SISS.
