Also, please note:
For all those wanting to race in New Zealand Nationals must have competed in at least 2 days racing of this season to be eligible. All those that have not raced yet will therefore need to compete in the 2 day south island champs 25th/26th Feb or apply for dispensation from the NZJSBA, with adequate reasons as to why they haven’t been able to attend a race day this season.

If you are just planning on racing watercross and have competed in last year’s Winter Series no dispensation is required.

2012 NZ Jet Sport Nationals Announcement.
Tuesday, 29 November 2011 08:13

The Canterbury Jet Sport Club has announced that due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to unfortunately move the date of the 2012 NZ Jet Sport Nationals to be held at Lake Roto Kohatu, Christchurch.

The new dates for this event are Friday 30th, Saturday 31st, and Sunday 1st of April.

We hope this does not inconvenience anyone, but it is a change that has had to be made.

The racing schedule for the three days will stay the same as previously planned.  The return to a 3 day race schedule has been implemented by the CJSC committee.  We believe this will allow riders to cross enter into more classes, maximising numbers, creating full fields and extending coverage at the event.

The planning is well underway, but If you would like to consider sponsoring this event please contact the committee now as we still have some classes available.

If you would like to be kept up to date with information regarding the 2012 NZ Jet Sport Nationals, please fill out the below form.  This will only be used so we can keep in touch with you and in no way hold you to entering the event. If you are not entering but would like to be informed, please leave the class section empty,

Also a note to local races, Round four and the South Island champs have also been moved a week and are now to be held on the 25th and 26th of February .

If you have any communication regarding the changes or event in general, please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and I will forward on to the committee.

CJSC puts out an invite to Australian riders
Monday, 31 October 2011 06:44

The Canterbury Jet Sports Club would like to put an invite to any Australian riders that would like to compete in the upcoming 2012 NZ Jet Sport Nationals to be held on the 30/31 March / 1st April  2012.

The Canterbury Jet Sports Club has a history of high quality events that are well run and well supported. With a long list of national events hosted by the CJSC over the last 25 years, they have most recently hosted the successful 2002, 2005 and highly successful 2007 national events.

All closed course racing will be held at Lake Roto Kohatu on the pre set track.  Class numbers will be limited to ensure riders safety.  This will create a heats based event or qualifying that will allow for exciting competitive racing.

The water cross classes are mini style endurance events with three races lasting approx 25 minutes. Due to the size of Lake Roto Kohatu the Water Cross events will be run at Lyttleton Harbour.

The return to a 3 day race schedule has been implemented by the CJSC committee.  We believe this will allow riders to cross enter into more classes, maximising numbers, creating full fields and extending coverage at the event.

Classes are

- Expert/Elite Runabout Open

- Expert/Elite Ski Open

- Expert/Elite Womens Runabout

- Expert/Elite Water Cross Open

- Expert/Elite Naturally Aspirated

International Results

On the second weekend of May the Australian Nationals were held in Queensland. 2 Canterbury riders competed at the event, both in the premier Pole Ski class. Trent Brown (current nz champion) and Cole Askew (Australian 2009 winner) took on the aussies and current World Champion Kevin Reiterer (Austria). After his boat arrived late and in parts, Cole was plagued with engine problems and a few dnf’s put him out of the running for a podium finish. Reiterer had a similar fate with a minor problem in one race, which opened the door for Trent to battle it out with the rest of the Australian based field and take the title. Aucklander (and current World and NZ champion) Sam Harvey took out the Pro Runabout Open title. Congratulations to Trent, Sam and Cole.
